Let’s Break Boundaries

How many times have you looked at your wardrobe and noticed all of your dark gem-tone garments! Like the leather and faux leather wear, (moto jackets or shirt jackets, vegan leather shorts, skirts and dresses) or the black metallics ,the shimmery leggings, even your skinny jeans with modern day rips and don’t get me started about the animal print clothing!! I swear I keep them ALL because in my mind, they ARE ESSENTIAL to your wardrobe!

I recently found a pair of leggings tucked away so far back in my closet that my jaw dropped in surprise because of the uniqueness of them – they have a ripped front strip with a leopard print under look. I was so shocked to see them again, I don’t even remember buying them (usually at thrift stores – I’m a huge thrift shopper from waaaaay back lol ) and I fell in love with them all over again as soon as I saw them.

So these leggings were not on my radar until they were! As the saying goes “Out of sight, out of mind”, so happy I got them into my view again! I was totally excited with the plans to wear them on my next little motorcycle rip around the town. And sure enough, on one of our stops along that ride, we stopped at an Ice Cream Shop, and they got noticed. The ice cream lady said ” OMG I LOVE YOUR LEGGINGS! Where did you find them?” (and, she was a lady in my age bracket!) Of course, I told her they were from a thrift shop and that I had just found them again in my closet. It made my day.

So the breakdown here is, never second guess what you THINK people will say about your unique style choices, some will eye roll at you, or give you that look! (Especially if you are in the late middle age bracket like me!) Because when you trust yourself and follow your own style compass, you get to experience the hype of a fabulous lady complimenting your fierce rebella wear. Truly, it’s about breaking boundaries within yourself, and not questioning whether you can carry it off or not! YES YOU CAN! Here is the pic of our little venture with me wearing my long lost leggings.
